Camp Schedule and Camp Symbols:

Tues. - meet at church 6:30 a.m. - breakfast and devotional and get bags and sweatshirts and planners (which will include a schedule of our activities for the week).

Activities for week:
Museum and Activities, Hiking, Flag Ceremony, Hair Braiding, Skits, Musical Instruments, Native American Dancing, Singing around Campfire, Good Food, Rafting, Biking, Skits, Book of Mormon Reading Time, Cave of 100 hands, Service Project, Trading Post, Crafts, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Testimony Meeting, Bishopric Night, Cove Fort and Activities etc.



SYMBOLS
Native American Indians were a deeply spiritual people and they communicated their history, thoughts, ideas and dreams from generation to generation through symbols and signs.

Sunshine
 The Sun symbol was of great importance and was revered by the Indians as the provider of light, heat, the facilitator of crops and growth. The Sun Dance was a ceremonial dance performed by North American Plains Indians in honor of the sun at the summer solstice.

Turtle
In many native American cultures, the turtle is a very powerful symbol for girls and women. It is a symbol of perseverance, fertility, and long life. – (Perseverance = persistence, tenacity, unyielding in following a course of action; a belief or purpose, steadfastness.)

TONIGHT: Stargazing at Sister Allen's

Tonight at 9:00 p.m. -- Learn the Constellations, Hear Native American Legends (storytelling), Come to understand 5 Basic Medicinal plants as recommended by Pres. Brigham Young,  Sit around Campfire and enjoy treats.

Bring a camp chair if you have one.

Fri. May 27 -- 9-11 p.m. -    Sis. Allen's House - Learn Constellations, Study 5 Basic Medicinal Plants
                                             as taught by Brigham Young, Hear Legends around the Campfire, Treats

Wed. June 8 - 5:00 p.m. -    Meet at church to Go Rappelling w/leaders and rock climbing experts -
                                             Bro. Prestwich and his two brothers-in-law, and Bro. Lockhart

Wed. June 15 - 5:00-8:00 p.m. - Make Totem Poles, Paint Camp Trailer with Native American Decor,
                                             Learn 'Secret Sisters', Plan Devotionals as Tribes etc.

hiking, rafting, museum, spear throwing, biking, reading, eating, volleyball, games, skits, horseshoes, love and laughter, 'secret' sisters (kimosabi's), native american dancing, drums, rain sticks, hair braiding, campfires, storytelling, legends, devotionals, service, star gazing, journalling, being together, crafts, dutch oven cooking, totem poles, walking sticks etc.
